We have been attributed for the improvement of the Somali demographic in Lambeth, with a 51% increase in GCSE attainment of A*-C.
We work with high-quality staff and volunteers to provide our young people greatest head-start in unlocking their academic excellence.
We provide tuition for KS1 to KS5 in Sciences, English and Mathematics. To sign up or find out more information, visit our application form.
Early intervention in Schools:
We are committed to improving equality, access to education and preventing permanent exclusions in schools in the community. Schools host us to utilise our services and expertise in early intervention establishment and operation.
We work with numerous mainstream schools to coordinate, manage, and consult on the process of creating an efficient early intervention programme for schools to use internally. We have supported schools with:
- Managed Move Mediation
- Curriculum tutoring for KS3 and KS4
- Enrichment and personal development for students at risk of permanent exclusion
Excellent Higher Education Access (EHEA)
We have seen thousands of students through their GCSE and further education journey into higher education. Recognising that talent and educational excellence is everywhere but opportunity is not, we have committed to improving the number of disadvantaged young people taking up spaces at Russel Group and reputable universities. We have partnered with university Somali societies such as Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, KCL, LSE and Imperial to improve the exposure of these institutions to our young people.
- UCAS fairs tailored for disadvantaged students
- Coordinated full-day workshops for prospective law, medicine and nursing students.
- Organised mentoring for students with undergrads, alumni, and widening participation departments.
- Conducted personal statement support and UCAS application advice.
Post 16 Admissions
The next stages after post-16 education are vital for bright futures. We have committed to working with sixth forms, colleges, and schools in the community to ensure students have priority to A level, BTEC and vocational courses. We also are committed to raising awareness of apprenticeships and other learning pathways.
English as a Second Language learning (ESOL)
Recognising the family and backgrounds of young people we work with; we identified a large majority of students to have parents or guardians that do not speak English. We provide daytime classes for family and friends of the family.
The rapid onset of technological development, as well as its variety, has led many individuals to feel left behind or intimidated to adjust to the modern world. We provide a range of tech support such as:
- Using the internet for bills, personal admin and staying safe online
- Emailing etiquette and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Intro to computer science, coding, HTML building and more
