After School Study Support
We provide personalised learning for pupils in Key Stage1 to Key Stage4 in the core subjects (English, Maths, Science) based on the National curriculum programmes of study. In addition, we support A-level students in preparing for their exams in English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Sociology, Geography. We also offer instruction in BTEC level 3 Health and Social care.
We provide enrichment activities including sports, computer access, participation in programming run by local museums and general pastoral care for each child in our centre.
We provide 1:1 support for secondary students and post 16 students who are at risk of dropping out or being excluded from school, college or apprenticeships due to poor behaviour or attendance
Support for Parents
We run a parents support network which is designed to prevent social isolation by providing parents with a meeting place. We run information sessions about the UKeducation system and the programmes of study in the core subjects. We also work in partnership with external providers like Lambeth College and NAICE to run ESOL and ICT classes for parents.
We provide bespoke consultancy services to education providers and other organisations including, Parent workshop, student workshop, translation services. Download our brochure for more information.
We have five members on our management committee who are also drawn from a range of professional backgrounds. They meet quarterly to monitor the progress of the organisation against our aims.
Through our work we have averted the exclusion of many young people from school who with support from the centre have gone on to achieve academic success. We also witness the growth in confidence and development of leadership skills in many of our students which enables them to engage positively with their mainstream schools. We have strong evidence that our work is raising the achievement of students which opens up pathways for them to take up positions in further or higher education. Over 80% of the students we supported with level 2&3 went on to University or college.
